What We Do

At South Euclid-Lyndhurst Schools, we understand that sound financial stewardship is vital to our district’s success and the trust of our community. The Treasurer’s Office is dedicated to managing the district’s finances with transparency, accountability, and a commitment to supporting our students, staff, and community.

As the district’s Chief Financial Officer, the Treasurer oversees all financial transactions in accordance with state and federal laws, Board of Education policies, and administrative guidelines. Beyond managing the district’s $75 million annual budget, the Treasurer’s Office also serves as a resource to help our community better understand the complexities of school funding.

Visitors are invited to explore our financial resources to gain insights into how our district’s programs and initiatives are funding and how your tax dollars are spent.

The Treasurer’s Office is here to answer your questions and provide the information you need. Together, we can ensure South Euclid-Lyndhurst Schools continues to thrive for generations to come.

Learn More about School Funding

Understanding how K-12 public schools in Ohio are funded is critical to recognizing the role of local communities in supporting education. Funding for public schools comes from three primary sources: state, local, and federal contributions. Below is an overview of how each works. For more information, the district has also created a School Funding FAQ.

Understanding Property Taxes

Property taxes are a cornerstone of public school funding in Ohio, directly supporting local school districts. This section breaks down this complex system to help you understand how these taxes work and their impact on schools.
