A new turf field is coming to Brush High School, thanks to the Cleveland Browns!

The district on May 20th celebrated the Browns’ donation with a groundbreaking ceremony at Korb Field, with appearances from Browns leadership, Lyndhurst Mayor Patrick Ward, South Euclid City Council President at Large Justin Tisdale, and Defensive Rookie of the Year Carson Schwesinger.

The donation was made possible by a collaboration between the Browns, Browns Give Back, the Haslam Sports Group, and Ohio CAT. The new field is expected to be ready in time for fall sports.

“We are deeply grateful for this generous donation and our continued partnership with the Cleveland Browns and Browns Give Back,” said Dr. Dominick Kaple, Superintendent of the SEL Schools. “The installation of a new synthetic turf at Korb Field will support the health and safety of student-athletes for many years to come.”

The new field at Brush marks the 19th field donation the Browns have made since 2016. ForeverLawn, the Official Synthetic Turf Partner of the Cleveland Browns, will provide high-performance synthetic turf from its SportsGrass line of products for the new field.

“This is an investment in our student-athletes’ safety, health, and future,” SEL Athletic Director Jamar Ross said at the ceremony. “It’s the surface we need to allow our football and soccer players to play with even more confidence.”
SEL also partners with the Browns as part of the Stay in the Game attendance campaign to combat chronic absenteeism. Brush is also part of the Browns Girls High School Flag Football program and participates in the Browns Flag In-Schools program, which introduces students to the game through physical education curriculum and school-based engagement opportunities.

“With the groundbreaking of our (recent) projects, the Browns are proud to continue investing in the future of Northeast Ohio’s communities and student-athletes,” said Cleveland Browns Vice President of Community Impact and Foundation, Renee Harvey.

“These fields will not only provide opportunities for student-athletes to develop and grow but also create spaces for all to learn and play.”
