Director of Curriculum & Instruction Rae Bastock to Retire in January 2026

South Euclid-Lyndhurst Schools Director of Curriculum & Instruction Rae Bastock has announced her retirement effective January 2, 2026. Bastock was hired as the Director of Curriculum & Instruction for SEL Schools in 2021. Her 2026 retirement will end a 33-year career in public education that also included teaching and a variety of administrative roles.

“The South Euclid-Lyndhurst Schools have benefited greatly from Mrs. Bastock’s years of service, expertise, and professionalism,” said Superintendent Dr. Dominick Kaple. “She has left her indelible mark on the academic trajectory of this district, and she will certainly be missed. We wish her all the best in her retirement.”

The district plans to begin a search for her replacement in March.
