The South Euclid-Lyndhurst Schools are committed to an educational program that recognizes the unique value, needs and talents of the individual student.
Our Goals
South Euclid-Lyndhurst Schools will strive for the following goals:
- To advocate for all gifted students and to provide strategies for students to advocate for themselves allowing them to take ownership of their own learning
- To support learners in metacognitive strategies to help them understand who they are as learners.
- To provide opportunities to solve real world authentic problems
- To provide strategies that address the social and emotional needs of gifted students.
- To employ state mandates (HB 282) in the screening, assessment and identification of students who are gifted meeting the current Gifted Operating Standards as established by the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce.
- To create a written education plan (WEP) and/or written acceleration plan (WAP) for our gifted and accelerated students that addresses their area of strength
- To work collaboratively with classroom teachers in order to develop and adapt curricula, materials and teaching strategies that adjust the breadth, depth, and pace of learning for high ability students.
