Schools Receiving

Title I Services

Adrian and Rowland Elementary Schools qualify for federal funds through the Title I Program. Sunview Elementary School does not qualify, however, SEL provides a Reading Intervention Program at this school to ensure continuity of services. Greenview Upper Elementary School and Memorial Junior High also receive Title I funding and services.

Parental Involvement

SEL Schools seek the active participation of all Title I students' parents in improving their children's academic achievement in a variety of ways:

  • Participation in parent/teacher conference days scheduled throughout the school year
  • Letters and notes to and from home
  • Telephone conversations between parents and teachers
  • Classroom helpers/ aides
  • Activities for families

Parents provide the strong foundation through encouragement, practice and appropriate settings which are all vital in student success.

The South Euclid-Lyndhurst City Schools Federal Programs Office manages supplemental services and funding provided by the U.S. Department of Education. These programs are designed to support student achievement, increase family engagement, and ensure equity across our schools.

Benefits

Title I is a federally funded program that provides additional academic support and learning opportunities to help students meet state standards, particularly in reading and math. Title I resources are used for targeted instruction, intervention programs, and enhanced classroom materials.

Program Design

The Title I Program focuses on reading, math and/or language arts intervention and is designed to supplement services to students using a variety of models:

  • Limited pullout, in which children are removed from their classrooms (usually on a daily basis) for a limited period of time for intensive instruction;
  • In-class, in which Title I children receive extra assistance in the same setting and time period as their regular class.

Eligibility Requirements

Selection for participation in our Title I program is based on the following criteria:

  • Teacher recommendation
  • Parental input
  • Class rank
  • Performance on Standardized Tests
  • Title I Reading/Math Tests
